News update on the "New" Clifford Performance/Weber EFI System....
For those that don't already know, Clifford Performance, along with Weber carburetors, has come out with a Throttle Body/Multipoint fuel injection System for ALL 6 cylinder engines.
The Kit comes with:
Throttle Body
Programable Computer
New Fuel Pump
New Fuel Lines
Clifford Performance Intake
Adapter
Here's what the guy from Clifford Performance emailed me the other day....
---It will work on any of the six cyl engines. It will be very well worth
looking into for power, torque and economy.
As soon as Weber/Clifford gets finished testing we will have prices
posted on the web site. Use it as a Throttle body or Multi point. It
will outperform anything that was on the market in the past.
And it will be priced right.
Larry
Well, for those who want to know, the price(s) for this EFI kit are $1799.00 for the throttle body kit, and $2599.00 for the Multipoint kit. Now, some may say Yay, and many others will say BOOO!!! due to the price. Now, since the guy said they're still testing it, we might have to wait to find out what kind of power gains are actually gonna come from this. But hey, maybe we'll all get really lucky, and this new toy for our toys will actually be worth the small mass of cash we have to spend to get it.

News update on the "New" Clifford Performance/Weber EFI System....
Please excuse my ignorance. I've been stuck in the dark ages for a while. When they say this setup will work on any "six", I take that to mean "with certain modifications in some cases". My '82 has only one real stock upgrade from the super simple 60's - when they replaced the points in the distributor. Carb = gas, spark = ignition, sound engine = GO. I can fix it anywhere. I like that.
Will this kit really be all you need for my pre-computer six? (Sounds like it, but a lot of things "sound great" 'til you try to apply them...) I realize this will require some speculation until the setup is actually released.
P.S. Clifford finally got back to me on the Weber 40 IDF carb jetting. Larry says "They come with 185's and we usually drop that to 170's or even 160's" (refering to the 300-6).

News update on the "New" Clifford Performance/Weber EFI System....
I've yet to hear from ONE SOUL who has tried the (Weber) 40 IDF 2bbl 430 cfm that Clifford recommends (and sells). I'm still tempted (to buy the Weber) but I can buy it direct from Weber for $70 less($329 vs $399)... and now I hear that Clif doesn't have the 2bbl adaptor plates...??? I guess I should check with Weber (1-800 871-3619 ext.102).I've heard from some very satisfied 390 Holley 4bbl campers.. and a couple of 2bbl Holley fans too...
If I knew how to run a poll, I'd ask "what's on your 300-6?" and "how do you like it?"
My response... stock one barrel, not much.

Man....I've got to say I originally heard about this Clifford system and put it up on a thread.
I cannot believe what they are charging for this thing.
It has jumped 1800.oo dollars since the first conversation with them about it.
I can see why as a new user so many of the more experienced folks on this site can't stand Clifford.
You CAN buy a whole truck for that money or even spend a 1/4 of the totals above and build a engine that will make 250HP easily and keep most of the torgue the engine is known for.
This is getting to be a joke...

For that much money I can put a down payment on a CNC machine and make a ton of money making the same stuff clifford does and sell it for less to boot. Every time I see cliffords prices it makes me want to buy a small block cxxvy (vomiting sound). I'm building the mega squirt controller and using OEM Ford parts for my EFI conversion just because I cant stand cliffords monopoly over all things inline. Sorry thinking about this stuff just makes me mad.
