any seafoam related issues?( Fuel rail leaks)

After reading the many great write ups regarding the problems removing 5.4 plugs I am thinking about running a couple of tanks of gas mixed @ 3 times the reccommended concentration to clean up the carbon buildup around the plugs before I try to yank them.

All thoughts experiences with seafoam welocme I read about a guy with a nissan who used seafoam and he felt it ate his fuel rail O rings because he suddenly got fuel rail leaks.

Has that happened to anyone here where they suddenly got fuel rail leaks after using seafoam. I'd suspect alll o rings are made of a similar material just a bit nervous about hurting anything.

If you could all say a little prayer for me as I go into battle it'd be much appreciated

Thanks for your thoughts and sharing.

Take care,

Phil

Be careful with the mixture. Too much seafoam can cause problems, mainly because it is not combustible.
Personally, I wouldn't go too far past 2x the recommended mixture in the gas. The best way though is to run through the intake.

Complete user error here but when I was about 16 I had a Bronco and it had high idle. I removed the brake booster line to run it through the intake and it sucked it out of the can so fast it hydro-locked my engine. . . I only had about 3k miles on the engine when I did that.

when i add it to the vac lines I typically pour it into a cup and let it pull it from there, say 1/2 - 1 oz @ a time.

I don't know why no one talks about it any more but ATF does about the same job as sea foam.

What about catalytic convertor problems ?

Are there any concerns about seafoam rigging up my million dollar CC?

Thanks for all the input guys.

I too thought about ATF but wondered about the CC.

In the old days we just poured water down the intake and it seemed to work real well. Big chunks of carbon would come right out the exhuast, literally.

So general consensus seems to be as long as I don't run more than 2X the reccommended concentration I should be fine.

If you guys had bad experiences with seafoam don't be afraid to post them here as well.

Thanks so much for these very valuable tool.
