Question Ford Pickup Red Book?

I see one on Amazon but it only goes through to 77 and i want 78 and 79. There is apparently some other version that goes through 93 involving a brake web site if you search on the web, but the site is long gone and it doesn't seem to be for sale anywhere.

I was hoping this book would be as interesting as the Mustang Red Book I got when I was still doing Mustangs, lots of entertaining trivia with lists of options and prices by year with a lot of production numbers.

Anyone know anything about the one that goes to 93 or any others that might cover 78&79?

The Red Book has nothing to do with owners manuals, nothing to do with FoMoCo.

IMO, it's a POS, has a gazillion errors and omissions. The section that decodes Ford part number prefixes is laughable.

The author had no Ford parts catalogs, no Ford experience, no nothing...don't waste money by buying the POS.

If y'all are lookng for an excellent reference:

The Standard Catalog of Light Duty Ford Truck 1905-2002 / by John Gunnell / krause.com / ISBN: 0-87349-411-3.

This book has VIN decodes, production figures, rarity tables, lists of accessories offered for different models, etc etc etc.

Includes F100/350, Bronco, Econoline, Ranger, Bronco II, Aerostar, Ranchero, Model T, Model A and etc.

I bought one when it was first introduced. All it was good for...was for "exercise!"

It took a while to read thru it, because in anger, I threw the POS across the room quite a few times, due to the crappy/laughable info. Then I had to get oughtta the chair to retrieve it.

It ended up in the circular file. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
