on the road again

My 56 soon will be, I hope.I put a Volare ifs and a 472 Cadillac engine in my 56 and drove it for a couple of years. Then , about a year ago I parked it. Today I started it up and moved it for the first time. After a good checking over I plan to start driving it daily, again. I have a 74 302 I'm planning to install in the near future. I plan to use the Caddy in another project, not a F100. I'm looking forward to driving the truck again , while I prep the 302 for installation.

The Caddy is actually a pretty light engine, 625 lbs, compared to many engines its displacement. It's only 100 lbs more than a flathead!

I don't remember the numbers , but I know that a 472/500 Cadillac engine weighs more than a small-block Chevy but less than a big-block Chevy. My truck sits an inch lower in the front than I would like. Maybe the lighter Ford engine will cause it to raise up a little. I have tried adjusting the torsion bars and found all that did is either cause it to be too "soft" or too "firm". I would caution anyone considering using a Volare ifs and counting on the "adjustable" feature.
