When I mounted my style side bed, I made the block out of Oak since that is what the ones I removed were made out of. They are square blocks with a hole through the middle to allow the long carriage bolts go through. Easy to measure and size, they just need to take up the space that is between the frame the the floor deck. There is no rubber mentioned in the body assembly manual. I got an entire stainless steel bolt kit for assembly and the carriage bolts were included. You will likely have to order them, I doubt the local hardware store will have them the correct size and strength.

Have you seen this post? Around the thirteenth post, it has the wood block dimensions.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ng-blocks.html

If you can't fab them yourself, or find someone who can, www.horkeyswoodandparts.com is the only place I've found who carry them.
Now that the "orphan years" trucks are becoming more popular, I hope to see more replacement/aftermarket parts and supplies. I hope!!!!

Both the styleside and the flareside came in long and short beds. The Styleside beds are all steel and the fenders are integrated into the bed. The flareside has a wooden floor and the fenders are attached outside the cargo box or bed. Pictures of your truck would help in identification, however the avatar appears to be a styleside. If you click on my name at the top of this post and go to my profile you will see the '57 styleside longbed. It is very much a work in progress, as just beginning to tear apart.

Welcome to the forum. I have only been here since January and have learned a lot. The Styleside is also refered to as a Fridge.

Talking

A "fleetside" in C***y's term for their smoothe-sided bed.It can be sometimes be considered a profanity around here to refer to a Ford by that term!

Where in California are you located? If you can post your location in your profile so that it shows up in your posts, nearby members will sometimes be able to offer assistance or advice about local parts sources and/or vendors.Sometimes, they may even help you out.

So am I, and I've been in the old car hobby for over 50 years, so I know that...

ENGLER BROS AUTO PARTS on Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica...is the best darn autoparts store in CA (prolly everywhere else) for older vehicles.

Look at the upper right hand corner of this page...you can see where I reside, but ibuzzard's location is impossible to decifer.

But I know that 'i buzzard bait' lives in the hills of Santa Cruz, where "Mary Jane" also resides.
