Upfitter High Idle Mod on 6.4?
So my 08 F250 came with the 4 upfitter switches already installed. I've been reading about what to use these for and noticed that a lot of owners are using switch #4 for the High Idle mod. I'm not running any type of PTO nor do I plan to so my main questions at this point are... Are any of you applying this mod to your 6.4L engine? Why or why not? What are the benefits?
In addition to this, what are you using your other AUX switches for? Just wondering. Thanks in advance!

Here is a link to a thread that goes into detail about how to do it and why to do it. I did it to mine and always use it in cold weather and when the truck is idling for extended periods. Good Luck

I use #4 with the high idle mod. Especially here in Texas where we keep the air conditioner running and idling a lot. Winter time, I use it to actually warm things up a bit before I take off. Start the truck, let it low idle for a bit, then go to High idle, cooling and heating more quickly its a plu. It does suck fuel! I notice that its uses a lot more fuel in High Idle, but I think the pros outweigh the cons.

No problem and I currently only use #4 for high idle. I'm going to add a solenoid valve to my slip tank fuel line and put it on one of the other upfitters so I can transfer fuel without leaving the cab but I haven't gotten around to it yet. The possibilities are endless so now you can start adding toys to the new truck!

I used the directions found here on this forum to do my high idle mod too. Mine is also connected to #4. I use it to warm up the truck in the winter and will use it to keep the rpm's up in this summer while out of the truck and my pups still inside with the a/c on. It takes all of 10 minutes to do. The largest portion of that time is finding the wires.

Aux1 - Not in use yet.
Aux2 - SEIC mode, with an RPM setting potentiometer in place of the power port next to the pedal adjust switch.
Aux3 - BCP mode (useful when using a winch, idles up the engine when the winch is drawing a lot of power).
Aux4 - 12V Aux enable (controls a big contactor/relay to enable a 200A+ power feed to a 2KW inverter and a connection for a receiver mount winch).

@ Brandon - I'm trying to get this to work on my 08 6.4 but so far no luck. My 4 Aux wires are as follows:
- Off White
- White with Orange Stripe
- Brown with White Stripe
- Gray with orange stripe
So far I have tried hooking the Green & Yellow wire to the Off White with no success. I then tried attaching it to the Brown with White Stripe and still no luck. Any suggestions on what I could be doing wrong?
Thanks in Advance! Sorry for the trouble.

When all else fells get a flash light and make sure you are using the right wires... Went back out after my last post with the flashlight to find I was actually using the wrong wires. The wires for my AUX switches were tucked a little further up in the dash. Found the brown wire, connected it to the Yellow & Green Wire, applied EBrake, Flipped the switch and presto... 1200RPMS! Thanks for the responses guys... sorry for the trouble! It only took an hour but I finally got it... walking away from PC in shame...
