I have tried everything, still no start!!

Hey guys, I have a 1997f350 powerstroke with 150,000 miles on. i was on my way home from work and the truck died. i new the fuel pump was on the way out so i replaced that. and then still nothing. I put three different scanners on it and all three of them would not connect. i flashed the computer and the scanner was able to connect. but yet again. still no start. all of the pressures are good. all of the fuses are good. the GPR is working . The IDM is working. all of the injectors are firing. I cleaned up some grounds and wiring that was chaffing. if anyone has had any problems like this. Please any information would be EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks everyone.

welcome to fte. Did you replace the cps on the front of the engine?

i rplaced the cam sensor. but i know that the aftermarket CPS isnt that common to be bad from the factory so maybe its worth trying while the senso is still under warranty.

Unplug the ICP and try it. Then recheck for codes.
P1211 ICP Not Controllable - Pressure Above/Below Desired
P1212 ICP Voltage Not at Expected Level
Also you should have a P1111 set if there are no codes.

What do you mean you flashed the computer?

What ICP psi are you seeing while cranking? What duty cycle % on the IPR? Battery voltage? Injector pulse width? Fuel pressure? Any smoke out the tail pipe while cranking?

i had the computer totally re written back to stock. the truck was acting as if it was completly brain dead. so that lead me to believe that the computer was not functioning correctly. after the "flash" i was able to see into my computer again with the scanner. before that all of the scanners i trired could not access anything. they wouldnt even connect. i cannot remember all of the specifics but i know the bater voltage was good. dont know the duty cycle. and i can check the other two in the morning.

No codes is the P1111 which is fine. Unplugging the ICP should set codes after you try and start. Then replug it. I suggested that as a means to see if you are able to read codes. It will also default the pcm to limp mode and run at a set default ICP value. If it runs with the ICP unplugged then your ICP could be faulty.

Chris has some good Q's and I am more intrested in the smoke Q than the others at this early stage.

X2 what Pete said. The 2wire clip with the "bail latch" thingy. If you had the bowl out, you may have missed the connection
