Did any of you guys ever thought about adding taillights or bars like the lightbars you get for trucks? I think the taillights with 1 bulb per side with no real sidemarkers are not enough.

Same with the front sidemarkers I think they should flash when the turn signal is on but they don't. Maybe I can modify the mirrors

 

I added the bar under the lift gate of my 2004 Explorer.
The gate has a good space from the top of the bumper

I would like to do the same on the 08 Expedition I just bought, but the tailgate is pretty close to the bumper.
If I do it, I will take pix and post

I have that idea but not sure there is enough space.

 

There are some on evilbay listed for an Expedition, but they sit on the bumper at the edge, far enough out so the tailgate will clear on when being opened/closed
I don't like that setup. I want it hidden unless the gate is up.

 

The ones I found at eBay were universal bars only. But I would not like the style that sits on the edge of the bumper either.
