I went and did it

Ok, I cannot find any reference material to help with this.
Bought a set of front shocks from JeffsBG and all was looking well until I started to install on the truck.
The top loop of the shock is to small to fit onto the stud on the mount.
Wuzzup
Thought I could find something about it, but nada. Are there two sizes? Or do I just need to order rubber not poly bushings (which I don't dig anyway).
Thanks
Edit after research.
Found out there are two sizes of insert for the same shock. Larger size is for the larger 3/4 in stud.
Be nice if they listed them together.

OK
After not being able to get up to the ranch to work on the truck, I have decided to drive it back to LA 8 hrs from NorCal in order to get it moving along.
I'm flying up after xmas and giving myself 3 days to get it road worthy then drive back on the 30th. I have been collecting parts and am putting together a big O'**** kit.
It needs a new throw out bearing so I'll replace the clutch while in there. All new bushings, check the cooling system, check wheel bearings, etc.
As far as the upper end tick, cross fingers.
Any other ideas?
It's a bit butt puckery to drive a truck for 8 hrs that I haven't driven 30 miles yet, but hey thats what makes life fun eh?
I'm going to take the 101 down the state as it will allow me to bypass a large climb (called the Grapevine) that links SoCal to MidCal. A big mountain pass on an old cooling system may not be the best thing for it until rebuilt.
I'm also notifying a couple FTE buddies along the route in case the guano hits the fan.
I'll bring the camera and document any roadside fixes.

Dunno 'bout that. It reminds me of Alfred E. Newman. "What, me worry?"

Hey Turbo
Nice truck! Congrats!!
No worries about your trip; just grease the universals and top off the fluids and tighten the clamps!
I just bought my '74 in Oregon and did almost the same thing. Looked at her for 1/2hr, drove 2mi's, did the above checks in the dark minus checking the clamps... Left Grants Pass at 2:30am headed 100mi's south of San Fran. (450mi) I took a gal of antifreeze, two quarts of ATF, and a new grease gun. I used no water, most of the atf (steering leak), but went thru a case of oil.... PO had used bolts to block off the air ports on the exhaust and they kept the valve covers from seating..... That and valve stem seals.

Kept it below 60mph (or tried), windows open, tunes up! Grinning all the way!!!
I'll pm you my number in just in case but going down 101 sounds like a very smooth unhurried way to go. Think of it as a vacation on the road.... I took every tool I could carry and used none; go figure!

Can't think of another way to get to know your new baby better.
I will definitely be grinning all the way, even if something goes wrong.
BTW, still love that flatbed of yours.

Sounds like my trip back from the desert with my oldie a few years ago..... 104 degrees windows down, tools in the bed, a few cans of brake fluid in the cab, a jug of coolant, and a jug of oil sliding around the bed, my son following me in my Mustang..... and all the time grinning ear to ear.....
