More torque and performance

What can I do to my new 6.2 to improve the torque for towing? What can I do to make it more fuel efficient? Anyone have any experience with those chips? I put an exhaust on and just wondering what else I should do???

Gears are going to make the biggest difference. Anything else (intake, exhaust, etc) may not give you much of an increase but it will increase.

If you regear your mileage will suffer (as we've seen between the 3.73s vs 4.30s). Keeping your foot out of the throttle and tires aired up will help. Some have reported a small increase in mileage with the new air intakes.

5 star also has some tunes for our trucks as well. Search around this forum, mike from 5 star has some good info/videos out there.

You can pick up about 15 HP and torque by running premium gas according to the engineer that designed it. The engine will adjust the timing to take advantage of higher octane fuel. down side is it costs more. Up side is premium gas here in AB is ethanol free.

A reflash with a custom 87 gas tune is what i would to do to the truck. There is much more to be had with drive ability with this truck.. just read all the trans stuff going on...i have not had any issues with our 6.2L truck , maybe we have a golden egg.

Mike Not to HI-Jack the thread but could it be that your reworking of the trans program on the 6.2 has helped with the problems we have had with this new trans?

It would be nice to hear from those who have installed your tunes to see how they are doing as to trans problems.

I ran Mikes Tunes for months & Didn't notice the trans problems... Went back to stock & Have had issues & got the Nov. reflash & getting mine done with the newest flash plus solenoids today....

I am hoping to get back on 5 star tune someday in the future after taking a six month "vacation" from them. I still felt that the 5 star tunes worked as advertised.

Keep us posted on how the trans shifts. I scheduled my trans update (among other things) for Thursday morning.

Will Do - I'm in a 2011 F-150 for the day - pickup tommorow sometime..

Something about they need to drop the pan / figure out which part number they need & get it in overnight... Then bolt it back up..

Thanks Byram. I have had mine scince October and have been waiting for a real fix before bringing it in. I do have the 2nd - 3rd problem once in a while as well as hard shifts. It happens in both T/H and normal. Keep us posted.
