Move ICP Sensor

Has anyone moved the ICP sensor on a 03 to the valve cover? Can you just purchase the pipe and mount it ?

I have read of people doing it. You will need oil rails, passenger valve cover, and wire harness for sure. You can probably just solder in some wire to make the plug work. I'm not really sure what else you would have to do to make it work.

I think he just means to extend the current location out from behind the Turbo. Useing a hard line kinda like ebp sensor is mounted.

You will need late style oil stand pipes as well. There are a lot of parts required unless you can find a used engine to score everything from. You would probably want to change the left oil rail to match as well.

ok. More than I thought. I was thinking it was just a hard line that went from the current location to the valve cover.

no The ones in the valve cover are screwed strait into the HPO rail that's under the cover.

If you have access to a lathe and have some patience you could pop a plug out of one end and machine a fitting that will accept the icp and tap into the hpop rail. I wouldnt think it to be that hard. You would have to push the icp end through a grommet to seal oil under the valve cover. Not really rocket science. Post your idea or which way you decide to go. R

You should start a new thread on the 6.0 page. (button is at the top). Some more info on your truck would be helpful also.

WHOA. Brain attack.. How About just a length of braided stainless hose to extend the icp away from the heat, & to where you can. get to it..
