Very strange issue ...

Hey guys, been a while since my last post but i have a very strange issue with my 2010 f150's driver side mirror ... it is a heated and autodimming mirror incase that matters but the mirror looks like its foggy or blurry ... it has progressively gotten worse. Now the fogginess has covered the entire thing.

Its not anything on the surface of the mirror as i've tried to clean it off but it appears to be behind the surface of the mirror ... I was worried that maybe something had happend to the heating element and it messed up my mirrors or something. Has anyone seen this happen before or have an idea of what it could be?

Have it fixed under warranty. Sounds like the auto dim part of the mirror.

agreed, have the dealership replace the mirror under warranty. sounds like moisture (or something) has gotten in behind the glass and I don't see how that's going to be repairable as is so, just get them to replace the darned thing.

Waiting for a callback from the warranty guy at the dealer now. He wants to setup an appointment to take a look at it, he said it sounds like a warranty issue but didn't want to make any commitments without seeing it, understandably.

Wow, that's total BS.

Good luck to the OP. Let us know how it works out.

Sounds like the glass is separating from the dimming film. The inside mirror on my sister in-law's 96 Continental has done this and is black is some spots. Definitely a warranty issue. Unfortunately, since her car is 15yrs old, it may not be covered
