No cluster lights

No cluster lights

Tonight my cluster green lights quit working. When i cycle the key all the other things light up like SES and W2S ect... my highbeam icon lights up and turn signals.... I looked over my under dash fuses and they appear to be in good shape. Anyone ever have this happen or have any ideas?

I hate to sound negative but they are turned up to the brightest that they can go right?? Not turned down dim? Do your running lights work??

Yes sir, i spun the wheel from down to up numerous times and its got nothing. if i turn it up the whole way the dome light comes on still. I believe my running lights work, my head lights do.

Today ill test them all with the beeper on my multi meter. It never seems to be something easy... My truck is falling apart..

I believe i found it, #8 fuse under the hood. its a 20 i went all the way up to a 30 and when i turn the lights on it immedietly blows the fuse...

That is a bad thing to do to put a larger fuse in place...but its a good thing that it blew it. You have a direct short in the hot wire that runs to the cluster lights. You will need to trace the wiring to see where the short is. I would start at the back of the fuse and trace it from there to the headlight switch/dimmer and then up to the cluster. Hopefully it will be easy to find.
