Shaun, here is a new tanker that a mutual aid department just took delivery of yesterday. 3000 gallon water and I believe 1500 gpm pump. She will be carrying 1200' of 5" along with 1 3/4" and 2 1/2". I think they have dual ponds on it, 3-10" dumps that can be controlled from the cab and many other toys.

Good morning all. Happy Saturday.
Neil, that's quite the tanker. We have a couple neighboring departments with 3500 gallon and 3900 gallon tankers, each with 1500 gpm pumps. It's always nice to see them show up. We stopped using portable ponds a few years ago and we just use the tankers as the pond now.

Morning all.... raining here as I type.
Brad, one of the other two big tankers around me hauls 3800 but it does not have a pump and the other one is similar to this one and hauls 3500. In our case it depends on the call, we can use the tanker as a portable pond and 'nurse' off of it as needed. If the call warrants then the ponds get set up. The biggest call that I have been on for a tanker relay was 3 years ago when the local VFW was lost due to a fire. We had 4 ponds setup and had 22 tankers hauling in water.

Hi Kathy, Neil. Raining here too. Big yard community sale up Willard way ... figures. At least there's no wind to blow son's tent over.

That is a good thing George. So what are your plans for the day?
We are heading up to the Dome Arena in Henrietta for a function that the Basset Rescue is having today.

Nice Tanker! She's a beauty Neil. I loved the folding, portable ponds, although I think we actually had to use them maybe 5 times in 7 yrs. We used to do hydrant/tender drills & see which station could fill & suction the porta -pond the quickest & safest.
Kinda like the Firemen Musters...now those were the days!
Wow...memories!
