Guys,

My truck is currently straight piped and I'm growing tired of the noise. I'm thinking of adding a BTM to it to quiet it down. How much will it reduce the noise? Is there another muffler out there that would be quieter?

 

I did the same thing. When I bought my truck it had a 4" straight pipe exiting in front of the rear tire, it was obnoxiously loud. Taking off from a stop light with other cars on the right of me just about hurt my ears with the windows down. Installed the BTM and it quieted it down considerably. It is still a bit annoying pulling hills with a trailer, but it is much quieter driving around town and such. One thing I noticed is that the turbo whistle is actually a bit louder with the BTM

 

It will cut out the drone and turbo flutter. I had the BTM before I got my MBRP system and while it had a nice rumble to it, at freeway speeds it was nearly stock sounding. In all honesty, I replaced my stock muffler with the BTM hoping it would be a little louder, but it wasn't enough for me.

 

Thanks that what I need. I want a straight through muffler and as quiet as I can get.
