I have an Airaid intake on my new truck and wonder if I should cover it? I see that riffraff has a cover, but doubt it would fit good on my cone filter. Any ideas? I really don't want to replace it, just protect my engine. I almost never drive on dusty roads or such, just wonder if I may be getting small particles in???
Any cover you put over your Airaid will likely be more coarse than that filter. The Riffraff 6637 covers are designed for extending the life of the filter, acting more as a prefilter getting the bigger chunks. I would bet there's a foam sleeve out there that would function the same way which would fit over your Airaid.
I wonder if i'm good as is? I've seen posts before somewhere where my type of filters don't filter out everything. I just wonder if maybe a cover or maybe a black nylon or something is a good idea?

I have cover on my AFE Dry S cone filter to keep out the chunks as stated above. It also does a fair job of keeping out alot of the dust. I am more than pleasedw with it. It was made by the same vendor that supplies them for Riffraff. Clay can get you one.
I don't know the filtration capabilities of the Airaid in comparison with others enough to comment on it. My thoughts on a cover for it were that, while it wouldn't hurt anything, it won't do a better job than what you already have on there. Hopefully you'll get other input from others with the same air filter.
