Have an 87 Bronco. case shifts into neutral and won't come out. Changed the motor with same results. 4X4 light stays on and Low Range flashes ( Code? )
Is the ECM the main one.Going to put a code reader on. Hoping its not the harness.

Unfortunately, the EEC-IV computer does not monitor the t-case shift electronics. There is a separate shift control module behind the passenger side kick panel. Chances are that the problem is low fluid in the case.
Auto parts said there was no listing. I will check though. Did not check everything yet, just got it towed back last night. Gave up on the parking lot thing
The shift motor turns a flat blade that moves the shifter. Do as stated and check the fluid. Then drop the motor and grab a pair of needle nose pliers and see if you can shift the case manually.
