Mr. Fomoko1Morris,
My sincerest apologies if I have inadvertently caused any commotion on this wonderful site. I truly have no intentions on breaking any rules.
Mr. KenJH, if there is anyway for us to contact each other without breaking this sites rules, please suggest. FYI, I too stumble my way on this site - I wonder if there is something I am missing to make it user friendlier for me.
With respect,
Paul

the only way I learn it seem's is when I make mistakes...if I could just remember what the heck I did wron...g....so qazy..I don't know if this would fit my ford truck..it was a brain fart that I thought would give my truck better ability's to handle the highway..what did it come off of ??I have a flatty and someone here will jump in to let us know..(I hope)

That bellhousing doesn't work for a flatty, but it comes off. I have to believe you just need to unbolt the trans you have now, and slip this one in -- Assuming you have a Medium Duty 3-sp now, and also that the new one has a truck-style big input shaft (1-3/8" x 10-spline). You'd have to fab up a rear mount for the tailhousing but that's easy. Shorten driveshaft and add all the OD controls (switches, relays, cable). If you have a spur-gear 4-sp now, there'd be a little more to it, to adapt it to your bellhousing.

UMMm spur gear...like not syncroed..yah I have the one ton 4 speed 4X4..can I change the flatty bellhouseing ..and then shorten one shaft ...lengthen the other...move the transfer case...and it's not just a off /on switch...for the control??or cable ingauge ...well maybe I should stay with what is in there....but overdrive would be so nice...

Just so you know for the next time as the admin`s really frown on ads in the forums instead of the classifieds and chapters.

It came off of my '56 F100 Overdrive Big Window. Check out the photos in my garage. It still works, full of fluids etc... just come get it. It would help me score big points with the chef... wink
Have a Safe Memorial Wknd,

Dual pattern
I found a transmission for sale and am wondering if it will fit my 69 f100 360, it originally had a t85 w o/d but I am not sure if it would have had the dual pattern. currently my truck has a t18 4 on the floor single pattern.
also is the dual patter 8 bolts or 4 bolts and 4 studs?
thanks.

The bell housing does not have all eight holes drilled and tapped. While the transmission has the eight holes on the front flange, only the outer four are used in the pickup application. The inner four match the pattern on some passenger cars. I don't know why Ford bothered to have the eight holes. You just need to bolt the transmission up with bolts on the outer four.
I don't know what bell housing you have. My 66 pickups all had column shift three speeds. My long beds had FE motors and my short bed had a 240 six that I swapped to a 300 six. If you have a 240, 300, or small bock V8 then you are in luck. All three of these use the same bell housing and the one you need was used for many years. I pulled the 300 engine out of a 1980 van and it had the same bell housing as my 66 F-100. You need a bell housing that has the transmission side that looks like this:
