anywho ..... I got it running right now letting it idle for about 10 minutes before I drive it.
Had same problem with my 04 6.0 ltr. check it for a obstructed Exhaust/Catalytic converter at the down pipe before the cat. open the gap about an inch and run it. If you have a blocked Exhaust back pressure sensor you may have a Blocked Cat.. Takes 10 mins..

ok..... results after driving it 3 different times today:

note: on the first run..... I guess I didn't have the clamp tightened down good enough on the tube below the passenger side battery. Was driving it and it blew off....... put it back on and tightened it back down good. hasn't blew again.

I still have a extremely small stumble and it isn't constant...comes & goes.

A collection of things I have replaced so you guys don't have read the whole thread.

- new EGR
- new EBP sensor / cleaned the tube and the hole where the tube attaches
- new ICP sensor
- removed and cleaned the turbo
- new fuel filters
- new oil filter

I thinks thats it

any thoughts

Dave the veins dont open to let exhaust out
the veins in the turbo move out as the truck accelerates this lets the turbo spin harder because it catches more exhaust gas to spin the compressor wheel therefore building higher boost on the intake side of things

hope that made sense

kinda starting to sound like a eletrical gremilin or injector thats starting to go

check the wire harness for chaff make shure everything is plugged in tight no bent pins

somewhere in the tech folder theres a great list of common wire chaff locations I will post it if I find it

it might be in this thread try this click here^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^6

Thanks for the advice Benny !!

Question though...... would a possible bad injector throw a code? I will check for wire chafe when I have more time. I am back to driving the rock crawler for now

love driving that thing

Take a moment and check your u-joints. A u-joint going bad will cause avibration that sounds/feels just like an engine miss or stumble. Also check the support (carrier) bearing if you have a 2-piece drive shaft.

Good Luck

After replacing the turbo...I do not have a CEL on at this time ( Haven't drove it 60 + miles yet either)

Question:

2006 6.0 ..... I was looking in my "Owners Guide" to try and find the fuse # for the FICM .... I can't find it listed

what number location is for the FICM fuse ... could it be listed as a different name?

I thought it was #5 under the hood, but that shows IDM (Injector Driver Module)

if it starts the ficm relay is ok and any fuses

but you will still want to check the ficm voltage
if you have a DVM you can check it
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...procedure.html

it needs to have 48volts at all times check yours and post results

also listen to the injector buzz make ure you are getting a good buzz from all injectors when you turn key on but do not start it
see if any inector buzz sound weak

Yeah ... gonna check the FICM once I get my friend over here. I have actually checked the FICM with just the ignition turned to just before start.

reason I want to know where the fuse is for the FICM ... was gonna pull it and the fuel pump fuse / take the fuel filter cap off and see if I get any air bubbles in the fuel filter reservoir ..... this would let me know in some form that I have a bad injector o-ring.

my injector o-ring leaked I found that it was making oil reringed all injectors and problem solved

had all the ruff running issues when cold missing cylinders wouldnt shift right and so on but would be just fine after it warmed up

does the miss go away after the truck warms up???

If you get air bubbles at the fuel filter then you have a bad compression washer on the injector

does oil smell like diesel fuel???

Update:

CEL light is now on.... stopped by Autozone on the way to work for them to run the codes.

1st- (same old code) P0402

only thing I havent done for this code is check the EGR sensor

or

could a new EGR valve fail (stuck open)

__________________________________________________ ________________

New code:

P0231

- I think I might have bumped a harness or something when I was
removing / installing the turbo

Any thoughts ?

Going to pull the EGR valve out in the morning and make sure the valves are not stuck

p0231 fuel pump secondary circut low

low fuel pressure can take out injectors in a hurry

p0402 can be a stuck egr valve or EBP sensor bias

EBP= exhaust back pressure sensor you may need to clean the ebp sensor

could be the second one if the egr valve is new

- I have replaced the EBP sensor on driver side below the air intake
Also cleaned the steel tube out.
- replaced ICP sensor on passenger side

where is the other EBP sensor located?

ok.....

almost sure it is a fuel pressure issue. Reason being is that I ran the truck down to about 1/4 tank (maybe a little less) two times. Each time the stumble got worse.

Today I fill-up and runs almost fantastic. I do notice a extremely ........ very small hesitation every now and then.

so ......... could it be a fuel pressure issue?
