The '51-'52 5-Star Extra windshield trim will fit the older trucks, but you'll have to pull your windshield out and replace the gasket with one with a groove for the trim. You may also have to cut the gasket retaining tabs off the cab. You'll see them once the winshield is out. The trim shows up regularly on fleaBay and typically goes for around $150.

Make sure that the stainless steel windshield trim you buy has the clip that joins the trim together at the bottom. Without the clip, it'll be hard to keep the trim in place.

I have a stock seat base to which you can add a later bench seat.

Jim, if you want a bench seat look at small trucks like Ford Ranger, S-10, Nissan, Mazda, Dakota, etc., from the mid 80s to mid 90s. A width of about 52 inches is what you want. I mounted a 90 Ranger regular cab bench seat in my 48 using a stock seat frame like the one 51PanelMan pictured. I trimmed the rear legs of the seat frame to lean it back some for better comfort. The Ranger seat folds forward just like the original so you can access the stock tool tray too. Here's mine...

I also have a nice complete bench seat, and I am about an hour away from Ft. Wayne if you are interested.
