What's the electrical connection right under the turbo on the driver's side?
My '95's has never been plugged in since before I aquired it.
My '96's is.
Its the ebpv sensor. Exhaust back pressure valve. Its a bullerfly in the back of the turbo that closes on a cold engine restricting the exhaust putting a load on the engine in theory helping it warm up faster. Doesn't seem to make a difference in warm up time just an annoying hiss and loss of power and fuel mileage on a cold engine. I always unplug them

Yeah, I've heard of them.
I'll unplug it on my '96 also.
I have a '79 Chevy that HAD something similar in one of the exhaust manifolds.
HAD being the operative word.
