6637 and Battery Tray

I ordered my 6637 kit a few days ago and just remembered that the airbox and battery tray are one unit. What am I gonna have to do for the battery when I put the 6637 in?

My 2002 the airbox separates from the battery tray. I did bend a beer bottle cap over the tab to protect the 6637, otherwise no mods.

Very clever resourcing. I'm assuming you were overlooking your newly installed 6637 with beer in hand and though "Hmmm.. this cap would fit great there."

Exactly! Didn't want to get a run in my hose.

Bust out the dremel and have at it, worked ok on my late 99 one piece air box, I think there's a battery tray available from Ford, stamped steel like the passenger side, but I love the smell of melted plastic, so I dremeled that box

All I did was take out the 4 bolts holding in the bottom half of the stock airbox and layed the 6637 in. No cutting required. It rubs ever so slightly on the hood liner, but not a big deal. Been running the 6637 for over 4 years now.

Here's what I did for mine. I added teflon and used the 2 bolts to hold it in and I put a long piece along the fender edge so it wont rub a hole in the filter cover.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe you can get a E series battery tray that matches right up to where the air/battery box bolts on....

Here's where I found it
