Keeps the wife from killing me,
I'm an old retired Pipefitter Welder and need out of the house. These are what takes up my time.
I've bought this from a friend for 500 dollars, it was going to ruin so he finally let me have it. It's my new project, I just started it. It's a 78 F-150 Ranger, 351M, short bed, 4x4. Heres a couple of pics of it.
Cool 8 track player here lol
This is my 90 I bought new, 300-6, XLT Lariat, Cruise, PW, PL, Air, PS, PB, Buckets. Everything works on it, too good a truck to get rid of! 117K miles.
This is my Sunday go to meeting driver. 1996 EB, 5.8, has dual shock front end, everything works on it also. Has 99K miles.

Yea ain't it nice to have other things to do? Best thing about my wife is she will set on a fenderwell and pull valve covers right along beside me.
And wheel the hell outa our Bronco when its cold out, but she will help with what she breaks.
Sorry just bragging, nice herd of Fords you got there.

Getting her involved had made alot easier when I need a hand on projects and spending truck money is not such a argument.
She can spot a 79 F250 4 outa 5 times now, but it has took a while. Now she can read a map and has 5 guns of her own.
Life is good.........and she loves the sound of open header's.

When I first got to know her she had never flown or shot a gun, seen the ocean or real mountains (Rockie's). I just decided it would be easier to involve her in what I love to do, work on trucks, shoot, and 4 wheel.
Mind you she is just as much a woman as the next, but if I will take her to the mall once in a while, she will help me with my projects.
It was a slow, but steady process. Now she will say "are we going to this weekends gun show"? Trust me it makes life easier.

The 78 runs good, air on it even works. Friend of mine had it, the past 15 years its been used to haul hay and pull his hay wagon from time to time on his property.
It setting up like it did the bed needs replacing where wet leaves have sit in it.
The bed, plywood is covering some rust holes about the size of a dime.
The old 351M, runs good but I'm sure needs a rebuild.

Pulled the 78 in the garage today to start tearing it down, it felt good to work on all sae size bolts for a change instead of a mix or metric bull****. pics to follow guys as I make progress on the 78 build.
Looks like I have a little work to do on the aluminum piece, that dude in over 500 dollars and this is going to be a budget build, want be perfect, just better than what it is now.

cos if the fenderwells are not shot, I would just replace the sheet metal in the bed floor. Finding a complete replacement short bed might be a quite a chore?
Their are alot of vendors out there with grill shell's that are not 500 shop around. Yours looks repairable, good luck and yea keep us posted on your progress.
Tees77f150 believe me Ford brother I know that for sure....
