This side actually looks pretty good. My thoughts are maybe painting with bed liner so it will cover some of the body imperfections, the sanding want have to be as good. Thats about it for now guys.

As far as working with the bed still on, just remove the mount bolts and slide it back a few inches. Or disconnect the tail light wiring and the gas tank filler neck and slide it back a foot or 2.

It is looking good and keep up the great work and by all means keep us posted on your progress.

Great work so far!

I wish I had as much time on my hands as you have at the moment. It seems you've made some really good progress so far on your project.

I'm doing something similar, but at a very slow pace in comparison to you. Every time I finish something, it seems I noticed another problem to fix hahaha.

Looks like you have a good vision on your project there. Are you planning on leaving the interior all red like it is now? My '79 xlt is black and had that same interior when I bought it. Felt like I was sitting in crime scene with all the red. Had to make some adjustments. I have seen that some people love it though. To each there own and it is all part of the fun of owning one of these trucks. Looking forward to following your build.

I had a 79 F150 I changed from red to black and it worked out real well. I believe I'm going to change this one to black. My old 79 had a 460, I sold it in 93 and have missed it ever sense. Thats why I have this one.

Great suggestion mate, I may even be able to lift it off the frame enough to use POR15 on the frame. The POR15 worked great on my Bronco, worth every penny I paid for it.

Lol, this thread is starting to make more sense. You're making up for lost time with your ol' 79!

I don't blame you though. Both my parents keep asking me "is this really what you want to be spending your time on?"

I just reply "what else would I spend it on?"

and they shut up haha!

Nice Aaron, this keeps me out of Bars and chasing wild women, both of which my wife frown on, lol.

Well, I had a couple of hours today and thought I would see what I had to do in the cab. I have a few health issues that want let me work too long in the heat so this thing will slow up for awhile. Maybe a couple hours a day on days I feel like it.

This is the bad, the passenger floorboard. Its what happens when you let a leak go. It's not as good as I hoped, but not as bad as others, or something that cant be fixed fairly easy.

The rest doesn't look that bad.

I'll decide to patch or replace that passenger side when I clean it up a little and see how far the damage extends.
