Adding Air Conditioning to a 91 F150
I have a 1991 F150 300 inline-6 with 91,000 miles, extended cab, custom trim level. It doesn't have A/C, and since El Paso is hot, I'd really like to add it. I have found a few in junkyards from 300 inline-sixes for $65, but they all seem to be R12 units. How would you go about adding air conditioning, is this something I should get a mechanic for, and is there a better alternative to salvaged parts from the yard?
my budget is approximately $400, if that helps.
