My '94 F-150 cruise control quit. I tried the horn and it didn't work either. I then tried turning the steering wheel way off center and the horn worked and then the cruise worked. They quit again, so it's apparently a problem with the power supply button and ring when they are on center, wherever they are (or is it?).
Is that something that can be cleaned, or what do I need to replace? How do I get to it? The Haynes Manual says not to fool with the air bag and to take it to a qualified service mechanic, but I don't want to pay $500 for a $40 part replacement. I've got the tools. The steering wheel is starting to make an annoying clacking noise like my '05 Taurus when turned, too.
