They're actually the same wheels they use on cement trucks. They don't really look that big til you try and get them off and one falls over and you can barely pick it up.

I've always thought the front wheels on cement trucks looked like they'd be awesome with the right rim - but those old iron split ring rims weighed tons!

You should see the tires on mobile cranes in shipyards

Another tire I wonder about are the "SUPER SINGLES" on Semi Tractors. It's a super wide tire and rim that replaces TWO rear wheels on a tractor. They look a lot like mickey thompson sportsman tires for tractor trailer rigs! I wonder what a set of 'em on ALL 4 corners of BigAirT's truck would look like???
(He's got two of something on the back)

Consider the size of these meats:
455/55R22.5

In USA units: about 18" wide with 55% of that sidewall on a 22.5' rim.
0.55 X 18 is 9.9 inch sidewalls. 9.9 X 2 + 22.5 = 42.3 inches tall, or just over three and a half feet (!)

Here's an idea of scale - BigAirT's truck

Note how high bottom edge of door comes on bystander The tops of the wheels are definitely waist high

These are ten lug semi rims...

(with apologies to BigAirT for borrowing his pix)

~ but I wonder if they make a Super Singles ten bolt wide rim that would fit all four corners: about 18" wide and 22.5 tall....
I bet it would look phenomenal - but also be phenomenally expensive

All I know is these tires were meant to hold 80k, so due to the weight of my truck they will last around 250k miles. Thank god, because at $825 a peice I can't afford to buy new ones

I feel ya! The deepest I ever went out of pocket was on a set of TSL's (so far...) but a tire is a complex composite molded product and it don't take much size to send the prices rocketting!

Wiseass... Ya know what you give a guy who has everything? The finger...

I SAY we all chip in and get Oreo a cool looking stepladder for next Christmas, with a diving board for when he finally gets it stuck (crossing the Grand Canyon maybe...).

That way he can swim in the bed until help arrives

If this is still happening I'll throw my hat in the arena.

'84 F-150, TTB D44 LSD w/ c-clip eliminator, 8.8 in rear, '78 302 with '67 pulley setup, Edelbrock Performer intake and carb, RV cam, Accel coil, C6, NP208, Warn Premium hubs, 4" lift, 35x12.5x15 MT Baja Claws on MT Classic II rims, ProComp shocks, some body trimming, and a Purple Hornie glass pack. Bought her all stock (saved her from the scrap yard) and every single thing has been done by myself or with the help of my friends. Used to be my daily driver, now she's more of a toy, but still sees street duty from time to time. She's ugly, but everyone smiles when they see her coming.

Humble beginnings:

I see 3 entries, and prolly by now guys are getting real frustrated that it hasn't launched.
So SATURDAY I'll make a poll out of it to get it moving again (unless it's so hot here that I can't even type)

Fellas - I just didn't get to it.
I got snowed by an unexpected event.

(yeah - all that stuff)

All I can say is that something happened.

Of course in the meantime someone else could jump in for all I know -
BUT THAT IS NOT WHY...

I just got caught up in a lot of things

Sometimes it happens
