Question Minor issue after new flash

I had the update done this morning. I did not have any CEL problems and only a couple of problems with the trans in 2K mi, one noticeable and one severe. The 6.7 mechanic told me after he was complete I would notice a difference in the trans and the truck idle until the learn cycles were done. Is there some type of learning cycle on truck idle?

The trans is as smooth as silk and I didn't notice any changes in the idle.

However, I lost my gear indicator on the display and since it came from the factory on, I don't no how to get it back. I have read on this forum previously that it is as simple as ________________________________

Can someone feel in the blank please?

Press the +/- on the gear selector and your gear indicator on your display will come back on. By the way , if you keep clicking the plus button until all 6 gears are displayed and click it one more time, you can make the display turn off too.

I had a similar thing happen, mine just appeared one day and I couldn't figure where it came from!!I just read in another thread that if you hit the + - button on the shifter in will turn the gear indicator light on or off, which ever you need it to do!!!

Yup, just press the + on the gear shift and the indicator will come back on.

So did the flash help you? Did you see a difference in shifting?
I did see the transmission has to learn how you drive again, but that should not take to long.

Yes, the trans shifting is noticeably smoother now. However, I did not think the shifting was that bad before if you discount the missed shifts.
Most of the time now you don't know it has changed gears.

The 6.7 mechanic told me that it should re-learn in around a 60 mi cycle.

I still don't understand the "truck idle learning" process although, he cautioned me it would be different until completed.
