Vaccum pump mounting screw FUBAR

Hey y'all,

I started the truck up this afternoon and luckily I was working on my coolant filter setup, so I had the hood open and I was looking for leaks in the coolant system.

To my surprise, I saw my vacuum pump wobbling all over the place and about ready to fly off into the ozone. I promptly shut the truck down and removed the vacuum pump. It seems I lost a screw that mounts the pump to the engine. I went to the hardware store and bought some replacement bolts and washers to go along with them.

Does anyone see problems with reinstalling my vacuum pump with a standard bolt and two washers that are of the correct size?

I think the bolts that hold the bracket to the cast mount are metric

Yes, they are. I found that out when I was looking for the correct size. I will post the size that I bought later on.

That's what I thought. I was shocked when I asked the guy at the hardware store and he said it was metric. It would make sense if it was built in Canada.

My experience with the 93 is that it is about half and half even on the engine

There are metric things on the motor not much but vac pump bolts, and glow plugs and me thinks other acc. mounting bolts. Aint just the ones made in canada mines born in Kansas City.

Well, I got it back on. I used M8-1.25x20MM bolts and M8 washers. I used two washers with each bolt because the torque is pretty high.

Same with my 68' 250. There are odd sizes in sae. IIRC some old cobra jet rod nuts were 29/64"
