1997 f350
Hey guys I have a problem that maybe someone can help me with. I have a 1997 Ford f350 XLT with a 7.3 diesiel. When I am driving down the road in cruise control I will go to switch lanes and turn on the turn signal the cruise control will shut off or while in cruise and turn on the cruise the engine speed will change. I took the steering wheel apart and do not see anything that might be shorting out. Any help would be appreciated.

Cruise control / turn signals
My problem has been solved. documented for someone with the same problem.
Inside the steering wheel column the turn signal assembly is bolted to the column by 2 screws with 2 wire plugs going to it. Pull that all apart and you will find 5 or 6 screws holding the turn signal assembly together. Inside that there are copper contacts and depending on which direction your turning or using emergency flashers the contacts move on a plate of different contacts. All of this was very dirty almost like a pennie growing the green mold and causing some kind of short thus shutting the cruise off when I would change lanes with turn signal. I cleaned all the contacts in there and have no more problems with my turn signal / speed control problem. I know about the 3rd brake light and the vss solving other problems but not this time. The only problem is getting the turn signal assembly back together, it was kind of difficult and after 20 - 30 times trying to put it together it finally went back together.
