2005 F350 XL want to convert interior
I"m a newbie and looking to purcahse a superduty..
I found a great deal on a XL base model that i can't pass up.
How hard is it to convert the base model interior to a xlt. Only looking to swap out seats and door mechanisim?
Is it possible? seats frame rails can easy bolt in?
Many thanks in advance

Seats won't be any problem. They all interchange. On the doors, if you mean keyless entry, that is best done with an aftermarket solution, with alarm, auto-start, etc. Keyless entry is not standard on XLT in that year anyway. Carpet is easy enough to do. Automatic headlights will be probably too difficult to attempt. All the electronic stuff is going to give you problems.

Power windows probably would not be a big deal. Just have to get all the parts from a donor truck. I don't think the PCM is aware of window travel, so it is not really electronic. Just electrical.
The electric door locks may be the same deal. But they just won't auto-lock when you start driving like the factory setup does.
Would make sense to do the P/W and P/L at the same time.

During the accessory delay (10 minutes or until a door is opened) the power windows still work. After that delay, they do not.

The bolt pattern in the floor didn't change from '99 to at least '10 (not sure about the new '11), so any front seat will interchange. You just have to choose the right options, like Supercab (seatbelt in seat back) or Crewcab(seatbelt in B-pillar), bench or 40/20/40 or captain chairs, armrests or not, etc.

I was hoping to find a source that was cheaper than ebay (wishful thinking)! I guess I will have to live with the bench seat for a few years!
Thanks for the help
