Australian 1976 F250 Rebuild
Hello Guys
I am currently rebuidling my 1976 F250 4wd.
I think its what you guys call a highboy. Its quite an odd spec vehicle. The truck is right hand drive with a steel dash which looks like a late 60s F truck. I am fitting it with a 5.9 24v Diesel and six speed manual box.
Its hard to find parts here so I am buying a pair of axles from Oregon.
Heres a link to its progress. Will have to drag it over here soon.
I got the date wrong when I started.

Nice rig! I love the before and after pics, they remind me of my truck. My rig was covered with that green mold and had plants growing through it when I first saw it! It didn't clean up nearly as nice as yours, mine just had some cheap rattle-can primer under all the mold.
I love that dash- I've seen something similar in the big trucks here in the states- just with the steering wheel on the other side!

Hello Guys
Thanks for the intrest.
The shift pattern is the top one that you showed
1 3
2 4 R
The transfer case shifter may be longer as its still on the left side of the cover hump. I guess they extended it and kicked over to the right.
Ive been told its a canadian spec truck. Did canada drive on the left side of the road in the 70s?

oh, with regard to that dash - it's the same as mine in my '74. I've looked on Dakota Digital and the one they list for the '74 is WAY different. On there it looks more like the late 60's model product that they list.
Any idea as to what that one matches up with on there? Anyone? Bueller? :P
