I believe that dash board came out of a Ford medium duty truck. The medium duty trucks in the states used the same cabs as the light duty ones in the seventies, but they continued to use the late '60s to early '70s pick up dash all the way to 1979. I used to drive a 1979 F-600 that had that same dash and instrument cluster.

If I were you I'd consider keeping the I6. With the right rebuild, you could be getting 20 mpg on the highway. You might want to ck a couple of articles I wrote in the True Blue Trucks magazine about the I6 build up. It is possible to double the oem h.p. yet retain the mpg. There is a website opening in a couple of days: www.truckmeblue.com who specializes in I6 kits and parts.

Maybe I could help with your build. PM me.

I think the picture is creating an illusion. When you are sitting in the drivers seat, the shifter is actually bent over towards the right. So it actually feels quite normal to shift gears. Its not a long reach.

I am extremely jealous of all the parts you get to chose from over there. Especially in second hand parts. There are very few F250s here at all. F100s are reasonably common up to 1980. Your rust repair panels are so plentiful too.

I am finding little parts like spring hangers and stuff are much heavier duty in the f250.

I am looking at installing crossover steering. I was thinking of using the same saginaw box you use , except i will mount it on the inside of the right chassis rail. Is there any large issues with doing that?

Wow that inline six looks incredible compared to the one in my truck. It has so much blow by its not funny.

If you're down here and looking to keep an I6 in it - why not put an XR6t motor in it? It's not like there's a lack of room in the bay hahaha. Should be fairly easy to find one that's been smashed and get motor, box, ecu, dash etc and swap it all in...?

Why would I want a 4 litre petrol engine in lump like this? I already have the 5.9 litre turbo diesel Cummins engine and six speed gearbox to go into it. Got to have the torque, not the talk.

Sorry mate, I got wires crossed somewhere then. Thought I read that you were going to put a 250 x-flow in it...... lol. My bad, Cummins donk is definitely the go. I'll sit in my corner and observe :P
