hi FE guys, want to share

Anyone recognize this?

I met one of the techs that built the pipes for it over 40 years ago. Hint: It was on display at The Shelby Museum in Boulder Colorado. I will wait to see if any experts can say what it is.

This one below is obvious and was next to the other one.

Anyway, just thought I would stop in and say hi and share some cool stuff I finally got to look at up close after over 30+ years of waiting.
All out of FE right now, but may have another one again someday in my future.

Pipes on that look like the pipes for the Le Mans cars iirc.

The pipes on that first picture are an example of an "even fire" exhaust system, I believe

Top one is definitely an FE engine and with the pipes I would say out of a gt40 type of car.

The top one is out of a GT40 Lemans car alright, but there is something VERY unique about it from most FE. I don't know them as well as most Experts would and I dont think it is noticeable from the exterior. it is a tunnel Port 427. The Cammer was there next to it along with a 289. the museum is just north of boulder. It is the Real Shelby museum not like Shelby American in Vegas. they have the first GT350 ever built in its "found" condition from mexico in there along with many other cool stuff. It was really neat meeting one of the techs that made this all happen back then. he was laughing at how they would section the pipes to get the bends where today the mandrel benders do it all in one piece.

Wow that all aluminum TP 427 with LeMans exh. is really cool. I wish I had a GT40 to put it in! That SOHC from Bob Becker is the one he used to run I think? I know he has a new one in his 66 fastback. If any of you guys ever cruise over to the HAMB check out the thread called "Okay, lets see some Cammers" for some more FE ****. lol You'd think hardly anyone has one until you read through that.

yeah, I think the only other block from back in the time was the TP 302 which I doubt ill ever see one. I dont know how many were even made but know it was a rare head.
These engines gave me chills standing there looking at them ignoring everything around me, dreaming of that car it was once in and how it may or may not have ran etc etc etc...

Hi Shawn!! You never fail to surprise me, you are always pulling a rabbit out of the hat! LOL

I don't think I have ever heard of that museum either and I worked in Boulder for years. Then again, I am not crazy about Boulder and hate going there. LOL That museum would be my ticket to jail as I would want to carry those engines out with me!

Now we just have to wait for Mike/Hypoid to check in on this thread!

The exhaust was the give away on the gt-40 and the split head/intake was the giveaway on the family of engine.

that is really cool. See how the pipes on yours are not sectioned to make each bend? Imagine a guy trying to make that work without a mandrel bender. LOL
I have read about FE built like this with exhaust up intake down.

I am amazed at the time it took to clean the drool from my keyboard!

North of Boulder is a short drive for me. I'll have to check it out some weekend.
