Hey, I could stand more snow, but enough with the rain! Looking forward to the comming warm and sunny days. Without a garage, I would like nice days to do some improvements on my truck.

Road trip! The wife and I are sending the squirts off to grandma's in a few weeks and making a weekend dash to MT. Wanna place bets on my mpg? I'm hoping to get 12 mpg, but well see how many miles I have to drive with the 4wd engaged.

Okay, if we're going to do that... bets should be whoever can get the closest without going over.
Gimme details on your truck (engine/drivetrain, mods, etc.) and I'll take a guess lol

Okay, the signature issue is figured out...
The Game: Guess the average MPG (to the 10th of a mile) for my trip to MT and back. Approximately 1,030 miles total.
The Truck: Just what you see in the signature...no performance mods. She scales at 7,800lbs with me and full fuel. We're hauling a bunch of stuff over, so figure 8,400lbs total. I've recorded every fuel stop since October. A "city" tank averaged 8.1mpg and a highway tank averaged 12.3mpg. Overall I average 10.6mpg. I keep my tires at max psi.
Details: I'll top off the tank as we leave town and fill it up when we reach our destination. That way the calculations are only for my highway miles and will not include driving around town. I'll average my calcs from my trip over and return journey. All calculations will be by hand.

Fair enough!
I'll guess about 9.4 mpg average going over, 14.6 average coming back, to average around 11.4 mpg overall.
If it will help the rest of you with your guesses, my shop truck ('03 F250 V10, A/T, 3.73 rear) pulling an average combined weight of around 12,500# (truck, trailer and machine - it sometimes pulls less, sometimes more) gets 7.5-8.5 mpg.
