MPG Eco offroad package?

I have seen the general MPG figures for the Ecoboost, but was wondering what people are getting in the 4x4 with the offroad package. Thanks.

I have an F150 XLT SuperCab 4x4 Off-road with the EcoBoost. Overall I am not impressed with the MPGs. I have less than 2000 miles, but I have read on other posts that Ford had the electronics programmed to wait until 3000 miles until the EcoBoost really give good MPGs. I drove from Wilkes-Barre, PA to Ocean City, MD. I got 20.5 MPG going there, and 19.1 MPGs on the return trip. But I have not done as well since then. WB to Phila and back, I only got 16.2 MPG. And commuting to work I am only averaging 14, 14.5.

Sounds like you gotta break the engine in first

Just to make a point- My '06 ranger gets almost the same mpg's as you! Not bad all things considered.

My 5.0 has the offroad package. I dont really think theres anything in that package that will affect the fuel efficiency too much. I believe the tires are only about an inch taller than stock.

Speeds and driving habits! The results are usually the drivers not the truck!

Is that true that the EB needs 3000 on the clock to get better mpg's?

Not 100% sure, but I read it on another forum (can't remember which one!). I am typically a lead-foot, but I am really taking it easy on the truck, so I should really be getting better mileage than I am. I have to admit, that the trip to Phila was in nasty, heavy rain, strong wind. So I am looking forward to my next trip out on the highway.

I have a supercab 4x4 with the max tow and offroad pkg 3.73 gears. I average between 14 to 15 mpg's normally around where I live, but I also live where theres 5 to 10% grades everywheres. The one trip i did take was about 200miles round trip and I averaged 23 on the way out and 20 on the way back. I guess it just depends on what you do and where you drive. Oh and ill also add that most of the time I'm hauling around 100gallons of diesel in the back of the truck for equipment, so Im assuming thats a good 800 to 1000lbs all the time.

I hope so, if it is I will be getting 24-26 on highway and 20 -23 city/local! I seriously doubt anyone will see any dramatic changes, but one can dream!

EcoBoost Mileage

I have a Lariat, 4x4 package, with 2,000 miles on it now. My last two tanks I have got 18.2 and 18.5 mpg. This is with about 60% hiway driving and the balance in town. I am having to keep my foot out of it to do this. When I first got it I was pushing the throttle quite a bit and playing and only managed to get 17. My truck will easily stay in this range. I will be taking a road trip in 2 weeks and will see how it does. I'm really happy with this truck. But I got out of a 2008 F250, 4x4 diesel that was getting 12.5 mpg at best. So maybe I was pretty easy to please......
Good Luck,

I don't see my off road supercab pulling that great of numbers. Some of you must be going way under the speed limit. Heck so far my truck is about doing the same as my dads 09 screw.

mileage

I drive 16 miles to work and back everyday. I will set my cruise around 65 mph. I drive the speed limit in town. When I get on the interstate I drive around 72. I don't accelerate hard on take off and I think that makes a big difference.

Maybe your mileage will get better. I think if I drove 55 or less my truck would get in excess of 20 mpg.
