Grill color/paint?

I just picked up this 95 F150.

As you can see the bumpers are pretty faded. I would like to paint them & the cap match the grill. Any one know where to get a dark charcoal grey to match. If I can't find any I'll just paint the grill, bumpers & cap satin black.

Thakns,

JIM.

I think that satin black would look pretty good. That grey on the grille will fade and start to look lame. I plan on either painting my grill black or swapping a lightning black grill in

nice truck! what engine/tranny?

If you are looking to paint everything to match and need to do it cheap I would go to Wal-Mart or auto parts store and get a 5-9 rattle cans of rustoleum or something good... that way if you fade, scratch, or chip in the future you can do touch ups!

FYI if you really want to go all out you can have NAPA match a color and load it into rattle cans for you... A good idea if you ever need to color match say.... a mirror the wife broke off on her new car... LOL... that happened to me!

I used the (I think Rustoleum, could have been Krylon) for plastic paint on my grille last year. It turned out pretty goood. I used the satin finish. I also did around the headlights. I guess we will see this year how well it holds up.

After;

Rustoleum plastic paint and primer for the grill (it will hold up well) and rustoleum satin for the bumper.

Prep work is key, if you dont clean it well enough and such it wont adhere right and will flake off.

It's got the 4.9L/5-speed combo.

I've used the rusoleum satin on plastic before & it's held up pretty good. Looks like I'll go that route. I'll post new pics. when it's done.

That turned out great. Next time you need tires; front leveling springs are about $200 bucks and an easy install, black rims $40 each, plus some All Terrains or Mud Terrains... Just thinking out loud...

As for the headlights, screw spending $15-20 on a headlight restoration kit from the auto parts store (ripoff). Just use some gritty toothpaste and a terry cloth rag and scrub the crap out of them. Follow that up with some spray shine and poof, like new...

Skip levelg springs just get moog cc844. You can get them at the local parts place for about 85. I just did it and you get about an inch and a half. Bolts right on. They are F250 big block springs.

I like the black look. I painted the grill on my old truck and did the bumpers and rims to match. It looked good too. The truck that I have now has been upgraded to chrome but I kept the old grill. I am thinking about painting it red to match my truck.

Looks good on some truck I guess, I think chrome would have also looked good on the blue on, but the black don't look bad. It just makes it look too much like a base model, thats all.
