Another dealer disappointment...

When I bought my used 2005 F350 V10, part of the deal was to fill the gas tank and change the oil and filter. The salesman agreed no problem. When I picked up the truck at 3:00 on a Friday, the tank was full and there was a service sticker on the inside of the windshield indicating it was due in 3000 miles for service, OK great. That weekend I was looking the truck over and checking fluid levels, after all it was used with 81,000 on it. I pulled the dipstick and the oil looked dirty, hmm that's strange. So I looked under the truck, yup, drain plug dry and dirty. Next the oil filter, you guessed it, months worth of road grime on it. I figured first of the week the salesman would call and see how the truck is doing, and I would ask him about it. Nope, no call. Chalked this one up to experience, won't be doing business with Knight Chevrolet in Southbridge,MA again.

Hell with that, I'd drive the damn thing back there and make them change the oil (while you watch, of course).

I would go back and ask them to perform the oil change they "forgot" to do during the PDI. Can't let things like this go.

what he said

i wouldnt expect a call about it, that just seems like something they might have done 40 years ago, but not nowadays.

take it back and demand on oil change, hell try to go for a year of oil changes

Changed it myself same day, at least I know it was done right with the right oil and a quality filter. I was way too mad to go back there, it wouldn't have been pretty, and I didn't want to listen to the "story" of why there was a sticker on the windshield which would have made me even madder. It's their loss of business. My brother in law bought a new Silverado from them and had some deal where they would change his oil and rotate the tires for free. He suspected they weren't rotating the tires, so next time he marked them on the inside and sure enough, no rotation. He went back in and asked them wtf? Some story like "Oh sorry I thought the other guy did it." I didn't want to listen to that s**t.

These kind of stories make my paranoia seem less paranoid.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're still not out to get you.

Lucky you. When I went to my local dealer for "free CC switch recall" they dropped filter clamp inside my turbo denying later any responsibility.
Good luck with next free oil change.

When I bought my truck used it was the same deal but I was not going to drive 300 miles for an oil change. Dealership was nice enough to give me a filter and 6 Qts of oil. I honestly thought that was really nice.

Bought mine on Monday, and when my wife asked the salesman if they were going to at least give me a tank of gas, they said not for the price they sold it to me for.

My dealer wanted 2.5 hours to do the 15 minute 'cruise control recall' and I refuse to bring it in. Ford's biggest 'sales problem' is its dealers.

I keep getting postcards in the mail from Ford about the recall. Too bad. I'll watch for dripping brake fluid and flames coming out from under the hood and decide how to proceed from there.

Definitely not a Ford sales problem this time. But they can hook you up with an awesome independent front suspension on a 1-ton dually......

Well, at least it's not as bad as Chrysler's new warranty policy. They charge a diagnostic fee if they can't replicate and fix the problem your complaining about. This is while the car is still under warranty!!!
