Hi i am having some issues with my truck, my e4od trans is takeing off in 3rd gear it wont shift down but jumps into neutral if you mat it and you can put it in 2nd and but not 1st. Also the overdrive button is flashing. I read that it could be the manual position lever sensor(neutral safety switch) so i changed it and i am haveing the same results. I was sure that this was the problem because i read that these mpls's go out often because of water intrusion and the symptoms were exactly what is going on. The night before i noticed it i ran my truck threw some water that definatly could have soaked my mpls.So now i am not sure what to do. THX,jake

 

Not an expert but sounds like the trans has got no electrical power to it. You will need to check that the PCM (computer) fuse is good and that the pulg connection on the passenger side of the trans is clean and tight.
