1969 f-100

I want to buy a f-100 1969 2wd truck project that is almost complete. just need to reassemble the 360(all apart with a lot of new parts) with auto trany and the brake. New paint job, engine bay was also paint. The box and the cab was remove and zinc prime and paint. New fender, rubber, windsheild...the guy invest 11 000 $ and need to finish another project he started. He was asking 7500 but today i phone him and need cash fast and he's willing to sell it for 3000, i think it's a very good price.

I have a rebuilt 400 1977 with automatic trans rwd. The guy said is transmission fit on my 400 but i want to know if my 400 fit in that truck ? thanks, Serge.

the 400 was an option on ford trucks begining in 1977 (iirc) it will fit your truck using the frame perches and motor mounts from a 77-79. your 400 most likely has electronic ignition. an ignition module will need to be added to the truck (such as a ford duraspark or msd 6al) to work with the electronic distributor. otherwise you will need to switch to a points distributor.

The problems associated with buying parts "in crates" which is exactly what you doing is...some parts will be missing.

Buying a vehicle that has been taken apart, is fraught with all sorts of other problems. Will you know where all the loose parts will fit ... exactly where? Prolly not.

How long will it take to discover the missing parts? And, DO NOT believe a single word that a seller claims!

For example, a C6 used with FE engines will not fit other engines.

3 grand is waaay too much to pay for a pig-in-a-poke. Trucks that are complete and running can be bought for less.

Any seller that claims he/she has invested huge amounts of money, then claims he/she needs cash fast, and is willing to take less than half the investment, prolly does not. And has prolly invested far less money.

This "need cash fast" jazz is an old sales ploy designed to 'hook' the unwary.

1977/79 F100/350 351M/400 2WD perches are the same as 1969/79 F100 & 1975/79 F150 302 perches (2WD, cuz 4WD was not offered w/a 302 in these trucks).

1965/76 truck FE 2WD perches are the same as 1965/79 truck 240/300 I-6 2WD perches.

+1 on the transmission, the 360 uses the small block bellhousing, the 400 uses the big block bellhousing.

$3000 is where I would start for a truck w/o a running motor, not $7500. Doesn't mean it isn't worth it $3k, if the body is in great shape. Do you have pics?

I have 10 pics that i copy in my computer from the seller but how do how copy them in ford truck enthusiasts ?.
The truck is in great shape. He remove the cab and frame, zinc prime then paint the frame, remove all spot weld from engine bay with new one with floor, new fender, fender inside engine bay, rubber around all the windows with new windsheild, new paint job with a 360 all apart (i have done my 400 recently, i love mechanic on an engine stand) with engine freshely hone with new oil pump, timing chain in box, reground crank shaft, cam bearing, etc, with auto transmission stock, but don't really care about the 360 since my 400 is freshly rebuilt and have the tranny to go with.
Just by look on the pics, to me, the 69 F-100 is worth the price, but i really just wanna make sure with you guys to see all the pics before i make a decision.
Thanks to every one, i really appreciate yours opinions.
Gonna try to give you the link on the next post.
