Map light question

You have to remove the light assembly from the headliner. Pop off the dome light lense and there are a couple screws. I forget what bulbs are in there.
While your doing this, you can upgrade to a more modern dome light which was available in 96 trucks. It was also used in newer Superduty, Mustang, Taurus, etc.
I did this and like it much better than the dim yellow chrome one. You can get one from a salvage yard for not much. They come in most colors and in black.

Thanks for the info!!

Its all one assembly so when you get the new light just use the bulbs that are in it. You can get one from the salvage yard for about 15-20 bucks. They are also on Ebay.
I know the gray on mine looks a tad off, but that only shows up with the camera flash. During the day it looks the same.

It actually came out of the rear of a 2000ish crew cab super duty. The map light lense is slighty different to help angle the light down since the back of the cab makes the light angle upward. If you can't find tan, just get a black one. Thats what 96 trucks like ours had, no color option.
