Hey guys and gals, I have a 94 ford ranger XLT extended cab, 2.3 4 cylinder, with 76,000 miles.
I’m not sure what else to include however it sat for a while. It wouldn’t start without a new battery, and now that it does have a new battery, it will start, I have to keep the gas floored all the way down for it to stay on. When floored, it just sounds like it’s idling. Shakes like it’s misfiring (which is possible I guess) and a little bit of white smoke (I know it could be coolant leaking into system). But if I let off the gas, it just dies. I haven’t dove into it much, other than that. Right off the bat, what do y’all think?

 

How long did it sit?

 

Maybe 2 years.

 

If it was mine I would add around ten gallons of fresh gasoline and a couple of cans of sea foam or B12 and see how it does. I'm betting you have water in your gas tank from condensation that has accumulated over that period of time.

 

Any progress on how your Ranger is running?

 

still not running, I put a new fuel pump on there and added more gas and got nothing. Asking more questions and people now
