Not sure but the guy I know he is like a private car dealer, he found my boss a complete car body minus engine for the engine he kept out of his old ford he wrecked for $200. He found a low miliage engine for another car with warranty for $150. He just knows how to find deals and he knows he can find me a Diesel ford truck for a good price that wont give me any troubles.

Rusty, your "buddy" is feeding you a line of crap. The truck you described is worth 1000 in scrap. No way you are getting a running driving powerstroke 4wd for 1500. the engine itself is 1500

Yea and blue book value for a 95 F250 is just under $10,000 but this guy who is rich that owns this 250 that doesnt run is bitching like a little girl over $500 for parts costs and claiming the truck isnt worth but $1,000.

A vehicle is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and believe me ive seen my fair share of trucks and cars that sell for more as well as way less than what they are "worth".

I guess it comes down to location cause I just looked at craigslist just now and found a running 1997 F250 XLT with a good body for $1,250 or best offer.

go into the diesel only forum for these trucks and ask questions. They kn ow their stuff.
also, you should call ED. PartsGuyEd.com i think. he is a frequenter of the superduty psd forum here at fte. Great guy also, Ive bought a few things from him.
I cant imagine that the under valve cover harness is that expensive, but you never know I guess. Look up ED, nice guy to deal with. Or contact clay at RiffRaffdiesel.com another great guy to get parts from.

It was a whole kit we ordered from the local ford dealership. It was four under valve cover connectors, the valve cover gasket connector for both sides as well as the intake manifold side of the harness as well. This thing had the connectors that plug into the topside of the valve cover gasket connector melted and burned in two.

But I will do that, its no rush anymore for me to gun for this one as the guy apparently wants to keep it but dont like the cost of parts. Fine by me considering I dont want to waste my time jerry rigging the wiring to get it to run just so he can check and see if the transmission is good and will shift.

I don't understand how people rig stuff like that and expect it not to break again.

I dont either, but he just wanted me to do that so he can see if it will go into gear cause he thinks the transmission needs to be replaced. I told him to take it to a transmission shop cause a transmission can shift into gear just fine but still be no good. He didnt like that too much but it is really an inconvenince for me because I have to jerry rig it to get it running then take it apart again then use the parts I already ordered and have on hand to fix it the right way. That does nothing but wastes my time having to do a job twice. Thats why me and the boss told him to get it out of here. He is a mechanic himself but his dad has him working at the family shop Monday - Sunday and he doesnt have time for it. But yet he wants his cake and eat it too by having us do the work but then complain about the cost for the parts.
