Newbie Headlight Help

Hi all,

So I just picked up a 2001 Ex xlt and I want to update the headlights and turn signals to some clearer crystal look.

I'm new to Ford, a newbie with automotive anything...Can I do this on my own?

Is there a How to anywhere? I've tried youtube and google...but no luck.

Please help!

just did mine. bought them on ebay. it required a little trimming of the header panel but i think it was well worth the effort.

Which ones did you get? I also bought mine from ebay and the auction stated it was a plug and play...So I hope it is.

Did you change them yourself? I sure can use some tech tips...like how do I remove the entire headlamp. lol

I got the 05-07 lights to fit an 05. the ones they sell for 99-04 with the leds in them are just a little different. they look like the 05-07 and have leds inside and i think they fit without trimming the header panel. The difference I found is the edge between the grille and light is curved on 99-04 trucks and straight on 05-07's. so if you put those led lights on a 99-04 with an 05 grille the line is all F'd up. if your keeping the old grille then it should be perfect. look at the ebay ads showing those 05 led lights with an 05 grille and you'll see what i mean.

which ones did you buy? mine were plug and play too. they came with all the bulbs and plug adapters. I just had to get out the wiz wheel and chop a bigger hole in the header panel.

Do you have to remove the bottom marker first to remove the headlight assembly?
