my dads 00 2wd 7.3 had a new water pump put on it less than 2 years ago. well this week it started to leak around the thermostat housing. so i put black rtv on it but it starts a pin leak in the side, well my dad plus it apart and breaks the thermostat seal. so he gets one from i think auto zone and the seal is 3 time as tall as the ome and it seals the thermostat housing with no rtv. so if your thermostat housing is leaking you might can fix it for $2 with the thermostat seal, a lot simpler than rtv. so fare it is holding great and a cheap and fast fix. may be this can help someone.
