that is one of the flimsy ones, those are more meant as a place to house off road lights so they dont get beat off the bumper by sticks IMO, the one jimbo has doesnt look like one that bolts to the bumper and its alot "beefier" then that one as well

Depends how its mounted. The ones that my friend and I both made are the same basic design, but ours bolt through the bumper to the bumper brackets, and underneath to the frame.

yeah it was made just to bolt to the bumper but I made brackets on the inside of the bumper so it attaches directly to the frame

You should be just fine. That is exactly how we built ours, and as I said earlier, they can take a beatin'.

Smacked a deer with it once, was able to slow down to about ~20. And I use it to push stuck trucks out. The latest endeavor was a 88 f350 Crew Cab dually diesel. - with the boughten one on the 95

The one I built on the 89 has hit 2 deer, no issues. And my buddies is the same (I copied his design). He pushed a trunk all the way to the back window of a buick lesabre.

I got t-boned in my 89 2 summers back. Funny part is, I was heading to a truck-demo. I damn neared kicked in my windshield and painted a number on it (glad I didn't now). The guy hit me hard neough to spin that big old truck all the way around 180*, in a 35 mph zone.. seems like he was going a little over 35. haha.

Nothin' but body damage to the box on mine. Where he hit it (right behind the cab) and on the other side where I wiped out a stop-sign when he spun me around.
