Thanks for the info. Have you had them for a while now or did you just recently install the replacements?

My Lift Support Depot parts have been on for about 3 years (at least), and I am only just now having problems with them opening the hatch in winter. Before, it was like someone else said, "you better hang on". I will wait till it warms back up and decide if I am going to replace. It does stay open when I help it up. I still have to pull on it pretty good to get it closed, so I think it just may be the cold weather on opening (which we don't get a lot of down here).

I guess 3 years is reasonable. The ones I have now seem to have been replaced by the po with the standard sized ones, the labels on them look almost new, and they're sagging a lot in the cold. They were never "you better hang on" strong. Always have to give it a little push when it gets to almost fully open. But now with the cold weather here (finally!), I have to help them all the way from fully closed. It gets tiring really fast when you need to keep going back to the truck at least 2 dozen times a day for tools/materials. Guess I'll be ordering a set of these extra tall ones. Thanks for all the input!

Same with me. Morning temps in upper 40s, yes I am lucky. Opened my rear yesterday to pull out the winter front and noticed my 2 or 3 year old liftsupport struts didn't have the same superpower. They did lift it all the way, once I got it moving..

I'm looking at the Autozone ones for the 4X2.

Mighty Lift E95302.
Extends to: 14.72,
Min Force: 134.5
Max Force: 149.5

Sachs SG304046
Extends to: 14.72
Min Force: Assumed to be similar
Max Force: Assumed to be similar

Using ARANA brand Part # 6421EX ,15.87 which is mentioned here, it cross references to a Sachs SG301026 based on THIS link. The Sachs lists a force of 117 which is below the Mighty Lift spec of 134 for min and 150 for max. Anyone have any idea if the min and max force mean anything in this case and what it means? I am liking the Sachs since I can order it from the local Autozone, which is everywhere at a small discount and I can get warranty anywhere there is an Autozone since it is lifetime. Any help?
