tryed to do search ??
my son in law is going to buy a expy for cheap that has a bad rear end ??
so i am asking does it have an 8.8 like ???? or all by itself
i only know about ranger,explorer,f150
can some one steer me to a site that has the specs on the expy
thx noel
The rear end are different than F150's etc. Might be similar/same as a Lincoln Navigator. The Expy/Navi use coil or air spring rear suspensions where the trucks are leafs. There are 2 kinds of diffs in the expy. One is the 8.8 and the other is a 9.75" rear. Most 5.4L came with 9.75 rear end. 4.6L non-trailer tow probably has the 8.8". Get your tag number off the rear axle and that will give you some information. What exactly do you want to know?
was mainly wanting to know how much it mite end up costing him to get the rear end fixed depending on what is wrong with the rear end,did not know there was 2 diff rear ends for it
i wonder how one of those rear ends would fit on my 96 f150
It won't fit without some work. They may be the same diff. size but that is it. Mounts are different, frames are different, and there isn't any similarities between the 96 model year and the 97+ years. What is exactly wrong with it?
