Nitto Terra grapplers
A lot of you know how disappointed I have been with these tires. I decided to take some pictures to show how bad that they have worn in 17k.
I have right at 2/32" of tread left. According to tire rack dot com, that is considered "legally bald".
I'm gonna try to go tomorrow to the dealer where I got these and see if there is anything that can be done warranty wise. The last time I asked, they said that they called nitto and they said that my tires were still with in spec...

I would think that there's either a federal or state standard for minimum tread depth - last thing ANY company wants is a fight with the FED.
My ex had those same tires on her 3/4 Ram - absolutely HORRIBLE traction, so I'd expect that kind of wear too. Get yourself some Hankook DynaPro ATm's or, if you don't need the E load, from WalMart you can get Uniroyal Liberators in 285/75R16 - mine lasted 65,000 miles before a bad alignment killed them...

I got 47k outta my first set. Put the current ones on about this time last year, not sure on how many miles are on them. I would guess somewhere around 15k and there are plenty of tread left. I am running 305/70's E load on stock wheels.
Huck, if you don't get satisfaction out of the dealer, I would call Nitto directly and tell them about the forum and spreadin' the word. Squeaky wheels sometimes get greased.

I had horrible luck with Nitto too. Mine lasted me roughly 40,000 and that was running them into the ground (pretty much had street slicks when I finally replaced them). Last two sets of tires have been Dick Cepek Fun Country II's and currently running Toyo's. Got 65,000 out of the cepeks and going on 65,000 roughly on the Toyo's. By the way, I'm running a 37x13.50x18 so that 65,000 mark is pretty impressive I thought. Good luck getting them to cooperate, hope someone helps you out. I agree, if the dealer can't help, just call Nitto and lay down some thunder on them.
