I figure my rig will be right arounf 40 feet long, which means this is going to be an expensive crossing no matter which boat I'm on.

Could always drive back to Canada and take the ferry there, but that's not really saving me much, and I think it'll be an extra hassle.

I'd say to drive out to Port Angeles and take that ferry
(I've never takent the Anacortes one tho)

Also, had a quick lok, and I think that North Cascades highway (route 20) looks like it'll work for me. Any reccomended camping spots? I see several state parks along the way. Pearrygin Lake and Curlew Lake both look like conveinient spots for a night (or two)
I'll have to do some more research on caping options around the Olympic Penninsula. Dosewallips looks good.
Although the whole Port Angeles and olymic penninsula toure may add considerable distance and time to my trip. Will have to look at my schedule.

Did that trip from August 26 to September 8th. It was excellent. I was hoping to post some pics, but I've been swamped at work, and haven't uploaded any.

That highway between Colville and Concrete is nearly 100% hills. Fuel economy was pretty poor, but the truck pulled like a champ. It'd go as fast as I wanted, which was usually abut 50 mph up the hills, but whenever I put the foot down, she got up and went.

What was your total length with the trailer and do you recall what the ferry cost?

Truck is about 19 feet, trailer is 23, total is 41 feet.

On the BC ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe bay, my charge was :
FARES: 1 Reservation Premium $15.00 + 41' Car/Truck/SUV over 7' (2.13m) high $163.55
Plus what I paid for my passengers. I think the total was about $200.

On the Washinton State Ferry from Anacortes to Sidney BC, I can't find what the exact charge was, but it was less, due to some kind of promotional rate they had for recreational travel. I think the WSF website has a fare calculator.
